Phase 1 of this project involved the construction of a new single storey fan shaped English teaching block and IT suite with connecting corridor. The building has an internal floor area of 542m2 and was constructed over live services and drainage serving the existing school site.

Phase 2 comprised the demolition of two temporary buildings and the construction of a multi-use external sports area for netball and tennis. This phase also involved the complete removal and reinstatement of the temporary access road used to service the project.

Phase 3 comprised the construction of a two storey library resource centre and special needs teaching facility. The final phase involved the conversion of the existing library into classrooms. These phases were negotiated during the first phase works.

The total project value was £1.2 million spread over a 57 week phased contract period with phases 1 and 3 running concurrently followed by phases 2, 4 and the conclusion of phase 3. The works areas were spread throughout the existing campus, which had to remain in continuous operation serving the 1200 pupils. The professionalism of the project management staff was recognised by the award of the CIOB, Western Branch, Building Manager of the Year Award 2005
