This project comprised the erection of a new music and science block with associated external works. The building has an exposed timber frame structure with extensive glue laminated beams, providing 766m2 of teaching laboratories, rooms and administration areas. The building envelope was constructed in traditional contrasting brickwork and blockwork cavity walls, with an artificial concrete interlocking slate roof covering.
Internally the building has a central corridor with natural lighting from an arrangement of north lights and rooflights. The fit-out works included the installation of science laboratory work benches, experiment surfaces and preparation furniture and joinery. Shelving and benching was also installed in storage and administration areas.
Externally works included the provision of access routes and paths, block paving, grass grid paving, drainage and infrastructure works.
